Trump began hijacking coronavirus task force press conferences after seeing praise heaped on Pence: NYT reporter

Trump’s megalomania knows no limits:

Appearing on CNN early Sunday morning, New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman claimed that Donald Trump’s only concern over the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic is how it reflects on him and his desire to take credit for any successes.

Speaking with host John King, Haberman stated that Trump’s obsession with how he is perceived is the animating reason why he shows up at Vice President Mike Pence’s task force press conferences and takes over — to show that he is in command.

Noting that the president mainly uses the highs and lows of the financial markets as his personal “weather vane,” the NYT reporter said that Trump is only concerned with himself in the final analysis.

He’s also jealous of NY Governor Cuomo:

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Am Joy” on Sunday morning, Vanity Fair reporter Gabriel Sherman told host Joy Reid that Donald Trump is “furious” with Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) because his daily press conferences on the coronavirus pandemic are getting rave reviews — while his own are being panned.

DOJ Wants to Suspend Constitutional Rights for Coronavirus Emergency

Dictatorship is impending if something isn’t done soon. We cannot wait until the election in November. And we certainly can’t count on the Democrats to defend us:

The Trump Department of Justice has asked Congress to craft legislation allowing chief judges to indefinitely hold people without trial and suspend other constitutionally-protected rights during coronavirus and other emergencies, according to a report by Politico’s Betsy Woodruff Swan.

While the asks from the Department of Justice will likely not come to fruition with a Democratically-controlled House of Representatives, they demonstrate how much this White House has a frightening disregard for rights enumerated in the Constitution.

A Giuliani ally offered cash to lobby US senators on behalf of pro-Russian TV stations

We might want to ask Giuliani about this. As a matter of fact, why hasn’t Giuliani been arrested yet? He has broken several laws including the Logan Act:

When Republican lawmakers this week abruptly canceled a plan to subpoena a former Ukrainian official in their investigations into the energy firm that hired former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, they said it was to allow more time for senators to receive additional briefings.

But a Ukrainian magazine editor has told CNN that the target of the subpoena, Andrii Telizhenko, once offered him money to lobby US senators on behalf of pro-Russian media outlets.

A former Ukrainian diplomat, Telizhenko is an ally of Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and has been an enthusiastic proponent of the debunked theory that Ukraine, and not Russia, interfered in the 2016 US elections. Telizhenko has also backed Republican claims that Trump’s Democratic rival, Joe Biden, shut down an investigation into the Ukrainian gas company Burisma when his son, Hunter, served on its board. Biden has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Trump is lying about being Tested for the Coronavirus

Trump is quite likely contaminated and is spreading the virus. His lies and stupidity are finally catching up to him:

So which is it? The White House physician writes late Friday that there was no need for the President to be tested for the Coronavirus. That he is “without symptoms.” Which is besides the point since you can have contracted the virus and are without symptoms. His proximity to people who have gotten sick warrants that Trump be tested.

On Saturday, during a press conference, Trump said he was tested “last night.” Doesn’t that sound suspicious?

The language used by Trump and his physician is intended to deceive. They talk about no fever or symptoms:

“Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing, he elected to proceed,” according to the statement about the results released by press secretary Stephanie Grisham with Trump’s permission. “One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free. I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation.”

Trump said Saturday he had also had his temperature taken Saturday before entering the White House briefing room. The President told reporters that his temperature was normal.
The White House physician had previously said in a memo that the President “remains without symptoms, testing for COVID-19 is not currently indicated.”

Asked when he would announce the results of his coronavirus test, the President said that the test was sent to a lab and could take a day or two. Trump said he took the test “only because the press is going crazy.”

Does Donald Trump have the Coronavirus?

Donald Trump won’t allow himself to be tested. So we don’t know if Trump has contracted the Coronavirus.

This is a fact: Over the weekend, at Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump came into contact with a Brazilian press aide who was diagnosed Thursday with coronavirus.

Which leads us to another fact: The President of the United States has been exposed to coronavirus.

Despite that indisputable reality, Trump has so far refused to be tested for the virus. Asked about the press aide’s positive test on Thursday, Trump responded this way: “Let’s put it this way, I’m not concerned, OK?”

That’s consistent with his reaction when informed that Reps. Doug Collins of Georgia and Matt Gaetz of Florida had both interacted with a person who had tested positive for coronavirus at the Conservative Political Action Committee.
